Work Experience

An overview of my past work experiences and education

Last update: 01/10/2023

October 2023 - Present, Utrecht

Pega DevOps Engineer at Rabobank

After the traineeship provided by BPM Company, I am continuing my responsibilities but now as an internal employee at Rabobank. Here, I develop, improve and maintain applications that provide value to Rabobank and their customers. This includes monitoring of the applications in the live production environment that both customers and employees use, and if necessary fix case exceptions, provide assistance to employees when they encounter an issue. This is done in an agile format using Scrum, within an international team that has members both on and off-site.

July 2022 - September 2023, Utrecht

Junior Pega Developer at BPM Company

As Junior Pega Developer, I am being trained to work with the low-code platform Pega. This platform is used to create applications that optimize and automate certain processes within a company. Currently, I'm on project at Rabobank, working as a Pega DevOps Engineer with experience with both front and back-end development. During my working experience here I earned both my certifications for Pega Certified System Architect and Pega Certified Senior System Architect. Meanwhile, I'm getting practical work experience with the platform to use the various parts covered in these courses in practice.

September 2021 - December 2021, Enschede

VR Teaching Assistant at the University of Twente

For this job I had to supervise a tutorial session where students learned to work with Virtual Reality inside Unity using the Oculus Quest 2. Tasks involved setting up the VR setups and PCs, helping students when they encountered problems during their assignments and checking their work to give them a sign-off.

September 2018 - April 2022, Enschede

Bachelor's Creative Technology at the University of Twente

Here I learned many skills such as programming using HTML, Processing, Python and C#. Many courses involved learning design principles of various areas such as Human Computer Interaction, User Experience Design, Game Design and Visual Communication. Other courses involved Artificial Intelligence, Data Visualization, Statistics, Internet Technologies, 3D-modelling and Game Engine Technology.

This is where my interest for developing games really took off. A few friends and I, formed the UT Game Guild to promote interest in Game Design and Development at the University of Twente and organized various activities such as workshops and game jams.

During my minor space, I took courses related to Smart Spaces (smart objects and distributed sensing, distributed intelligence and context awareness, mobile and indoor localization, and smart interaction) and eSports research (business and management, performance optimization from both a player and data science perspective, ethics and inclusiveness).

For my Bachelor's Thesis I researched Virtual Reality, Presence, Immersion, Embodiment, Embodied Design Methods to create a Virtual Reality Design Tool that enhances the design process by engaging users both mentally and physically in the creative process.
